ETUCE Closing Conference on Cyber Harassment
On 7-8 June, 2010 ETUCE hosted a closing conference on cyber harassment of teachers. The conference took place in Bratislava, and gathered participants from ETUCE member organisations in EU/EFTA and candidate countries. At the conference the results of the two ETUCE surveys on cyber harassment of teachers were presented, and participants discussed what further actions and policies are necessary in preventing and dealing with the phenomenon of cyber harassment in schools.
The conference was an opportunity to identify and discuss good practices of national teacher union strategies to gather ideas for further development and improvement of anti-cyber harassment measures in schools at national union level. Most importantly, participants was inviteded to discuss and contribute actively to the revision of the ETUCE Action Plan on Violence and Harassment in Schools as regards the inclusion of cyber-harassment.
The project experts presented the information gathered in the second survey on teacher union strategies on cyber-harassment which was sent out to all ETUCE member organisations in March 2010. Besides, experts and researchers on violence and harassment in the education sector including cyber-harassment shared their expertise with the audience.
